Description Data of antibiotics quantity  used for treatment of infectious diseases are needed in developing antibiotic use policy.  This research was aimed at knowing the shift of antibiotics use for treatment of hospitalized patients with urinary tract infections during year 2004 and 2006 at a public hospital in Yogyakarta. Data of antibiotics use were collected from patients’s medical record and quantity of antibiotics use was calculated as the number of defined daily dose (DDD) per 100 bed days (BD) based on ATC/DDD (Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical/Defined Daily Dose) system released by WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Statistics Methodology.  There was no difference in antibiotics utilization for treatment of hospitalized patients at year 2004 and 2006 based on total antibiotic quantity and number of antibiotic agents used. Antibiotics which were used at year 2004 included amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, ceftriaxone, and cefotaxime with quantity in DDD/100 BD is 43,75; 50,1; 2,08; 9,02; 0,34 respectively.  Antibiotics agents which were used at year 2006 are not different from year 2006 with quantity in DDD/100 BD is 43,29; 48,17; 4,26; 10,06; 1,52 respectively.  Key words : Antibiotic, urinary tract infections, ATC/DDD
